If you participate in article marketing, you know that once you’ve submitted your article it becomes viral. This is a great and beautiful thing, but it can be a problem if your article isn’t everything that it should be. Once you hit the submit button at the various article repositories, in most cases, it is out of your control.
In other words, if your article has words that are not spelled correctly, or links that are not correct, you may have just wasted your time. We are all very busy – but this is a vital area of your marketing, and you need to make sure that the article is just right before you submit it.
Another problem is that people don’t actually read their own writing. Some sentences may contradict others. Some sentences may not make sense in a way that is easily understood by your market. Some articles end up being too ‘salesy’ in nature when that was not the intention.
It is a good idea to write your article, and then to step away from it for a day or two. Go back and read it again, and make sure that everything is correct, and that you’ve covered everything that you wanted to cover in the article. If not, make the changes, and leave it again for another day or two and repeat the process. Keep doing this until you have the article that you want to release to the world – your reputation and credibility depend on it!
On topics that you are very passionate about, this is especially important. While you should say what you want to say, you need to stop and think about how it will be perceived by your audience. Remember the politician who made the remark that was meant to disparage the President concerning soldiers? He made a lot of people very angry, and hurt his own reputation – all without doing the damage that he meant to do to the Presidents reputation.
The bad thing is that someone wrote that speech for him, and all he was doing was reading what was written. He should have read the speech quietly, by himself, before he publicly read it. Make sure something like this doesn’t happen to you
